Web API

Hardware Type

The Hardware Type page allows you to select and configure the hardware interface used for debugging and programming the target system.

Hardware-type-dialog

The drop-down displays a list of supported hardware interfaces (e.g., iC7pro).

Configure button opens specific configuration options for 3rd Party Tools.

System Configuration button opens the system-level settings dialog for the selected hardware. Refer to System Configuration for more information.

Auto Detect automatically detects connected BlueBox Hardware.

Communication

The Communication tab defines how winIDEA connects to the selected debug hardware. Depending on the hardware type, you can choose between USB and TCP/IP communication.

Communication-dialog

Port

USB – Select this option to communicate with the hardware via a USB interface. Recommended for fast connection and higher bandwidth.

Device – Select or enter the connected hardware device. You can use the format #12345 to connect directly to the device with serial number 12345.

oIf only one BlueBox is connected to the PC via the USB then the Device field can be left empty (recommended). This way if exchanging the BlueBox with another, changing the communication settings is not required.

oIf you have more BlueBoxes connected to the PC, USB is selected in the Device drop-down menu.

TCP/IP – Select this option to connect to the hardware over Ethernet.

IP addr – Enter the IP address of the hardware. There are multiple ways to connect to the BlueBox via TCP/IP port:

oSN number - Type in '#' and the serial number, which can be found on the bottom of the BlueBox.

oDropdown menu -  Check the Use global discovery on UDP port 58371 select the desired BlueBox from the menu.

oBlueBox IP - Enter the BlueBox IP, e.g. 10.10.0.123.

oDNS Hostname - Enter the BlueBox Hostname, e.g., iC7max-12345.local.

Port – Defines the TCP port used for communication (default: 5313).

Use global discovery on UDP port 58371 – Enables automatic device discovery over the local network.

To be able to easier identify your own BlueBox, you can specify an unique port number (the number can be any number between 1024 and 65535, that is not already used on your network for other purposes – note that on the other hand more debuggers can have the same port number), uncheck the Use global discovery option, and enter the port number, if the correct one is not entered already.

Each BlueBox configured in a DNS server must have a unique DNS entry.

Test

Performs a communication test to verify that winIDEA can connect to the selected hardware.

System Configuration

The System Configuration dialog allows you to configure network parameters, manage firmware, and access hardware-related information for the connected debug interface.

System-configuration

TCP/IP Configuration

Defines how the hardware communicates over the network.

System

Displays system information (Serial Number and MAC Address).

Web API

With Web API you can get information from iC7 BlueBox Hardware Debugger without winIDEA. It is disabled by default.

For reference information, refer to BlueBox Web API documentation.

Firmware

Displays and manages firmware versions.
