Silicon Labs ARM® Cortex®-M4 Microcontrollers

Featuring ultra-low power consumption of down to 64µA/MHz, and a shutoff mode current of 20nA, the Giant Gecko S1, Wonder Gecko and Pearl Gecko series of microcontrollers are ideal for battery-powered applications in IoT, wearable electronics, wireless sensor and consumer applications.

And it isn't just in the low-power modes where these devices score; features such as autonomous sensor monitoring allow the microcontrollers to collect data all whilst the microcontroller is in deep sleep mode. Inductive and capacitive sensing also enable interesting and modern human machine interfaces (HMI), whilst fast wake up times from deep sleep modes ensure that algorithms are quickly activated to process data using the lowest amount of energy possible. They also feature true random number generators and cryptographic hardware engines for secure communications as part of IoT applications. As a result, these devices are suitable for portable and wearable applications to deliver excellent battery life.

iSYSTEM's BlueBox On-Chip Analyzers compliment the Gecko family with their IOM Accessories, available for a range of BlueBox products. To power optimize your application our power measurement board, coupled with the analog front-end of the IOM2 or IOM5, enables the developer to see at what point in the application's execution the current consumption exceeds the desired level.

If you are simply trialling the performance of the Gecko microcontrollers using the available development kits, the integrated J-Link Debugger works out-of-the-box with iSYSTEM's winIDEA Open IDE. Simply connect the board to an available USB port and explore the power iSYSTEM's development software has to offer.

Finally, you'll always have confidence in the code you have developed by utilizing testIDEA. By utilizing the Embedded Trace Macrocell, available on most devices with higher pin-counts, it is possible to capture program trace information to deliver code coverage on unit tests for your application code.
